Reyna and her siblings grow up with a cruel grandmother in Mexico while waiting for their parents to return and take them to “El Otro Lado.”

Beautifully written, honest, heartbreaking as well as triumphant; a rare look into the reality of Mexican immigrant families and the toll it takes on the thousands and thousands of children separated from their parents.
